The assumptions, in full

  • Self-ordering saves about — of counter time per order it takes over — taking it, repeating it back and writing the ticket.
  • Between — and — of orders actually move to self-ordering. A shop with a QR on every table sees more; a counter-only stall sees less.
  • Order errors — a mis-keyed item, a forgotten "no chilli" — run at about — of orders on paper and — when the customer typed it themselves. A remade plate is valued at one average order. Only the orders that actually move to self-ordering get the lower rate, so this line uses the same share as the time saving above — which is why it is a range too.
  • Saved time is valued at what an hour of your staff costs, from the numbers you entered: the monthly cost of the team, over the number of people, the days you open and — a shift. That rate is on the results above, so the hours row and the money row are a sum you can check. It is not a suggestion to employ fewer people — the honest reading is that the same people serve more covers in the same hours.
  • The licence price is read live from OrderLah's own price list for the country you picked, which is the same list checkout charges from. If it cannot be reached, the figure says so rather than guessing.
